CLUB ACTIVITIES 2024

INAUGURAL VICTOR CUCCI
   MEMORIAL CAR SHOW
  CUCCI'S - COVINGTON VA
      NOVEMBER 2, 2024

Several members of the Alleghany Cruisers attended and assisted with the first ever Victor Cucci Memorial Car Show this Saturday. It was a great event and a fitting conclusion to a great local car event season. It was a beautiful, warm November day and a total of 81 show vehicles were present. This event was founded as a fund raiser for the newly established Victor Cucci Memorial Scholarship which will be awarded to an area high school student that works while attending high school. The fund raising was very successful and everyone had a great time. This event will surely establish itself as one of the areas most anticipated events.

     KARS UNLIMITED CRUISE IN
COVINGTON VA - OCTOBER 13, 2024

few members of the Alleghany Cruisers were on hand for a Cruise In benefit for Christina Wiseman on Sunday. It was a beautiful day and just over 40 cars were present. The event was hosted by Kars Unlimited and the fund raising efforts appeared to be successful.

       CRUISE IN FOR PAT SMITH
TRACTOR SUPPLY - COVINGTON VA
            OCTOBER 11, 2024

Several members of the Alleghany Cruisers were on hand and also assisted with the Cruise In benefit for Pat Smith held at Tractor Supply Friday evening. Everyone always loves coming to Tractor Supply, especially when the event is hosted to help a local resident in need. A total of 29 show vehicles were present and the fund raising efforts were successful. There was a good public crowd, and although the evening turned quite chilly, everyone had a great time. Another great Friday night cruise in.

HERITAGE AUTO & TRACTOR SHOW
MOUNTAIN MAGIC IN FALL FESTIVAL
BUCHANAN VA - OCTOBER 5, 2024

Several members of the Alleghany Cruisers traveled to Buchanan VA for the annual Heritage Auto & Tractor Show held in conjunction with Mountain Magic in Fall.  This was an awesome event with an awesome atmosphere.  It was great seeing so many of our friends and making many new ones.  There were 75 show vehicles in attendance and the weather was absolutely perfect.  The festival itself featured many vendors and some terrific food.  Another great day on the road.

           HARVEST FEST CAR SHOW
          LIVING STONES MINISTRIES
CLIFTON FORGE VA - SEPTEMBER 7, 2024

A few members of the Alleghany Cruisers attended the Harvest Fest Car Show presented by Living Stones Ministries in Clifton Forge VA.  It was a fun event with lots of activities and great food.  Another great local event.

   COVINGTON LABOR DAY PARADE
COVINGTON VA - SEPTEMBER 2, 2024

Several members of the Alleghany Cruisers participated in the Annual Covington Labor Day Parade.  It was a great parade on a beautiful day.  A large number of spectators came out to enjoy the event.  The parade was also the debut of Gidget, our club mascot wearing her "Little Miss Alleghany Cruisers" outfit.

MILLBORO CHRISTIAN CHURCH CAR SHOW
         MILLBORO VA - AUGUST 31, 2024

The 2024 Car Show Tour headed to the Millboro Christian Church August 21st for their annual car show. Several members of the Alleghany Cruisers were on hand along with several of our friends from Covington and Clifton Forge.  It was a great event with 56 show vehicles present.  The hospitality is always great here, and so is the food.  Another wonderful event spent with our friends.

CRUISE IN FOR DAKOTAH SIMMONS
TRACTOR SUPPLY - COVINGTON VA
              AUGUST 30, 2024

Several members of the Alleghany Cruisers attended and assisted with a Cruise In Benefit for Dakotah Simmons.  Dakotah is an area child with Downs Syndrome and numerous other health issues.  The event was organized by Alleghany Cruisers member Nicole Clemons.  It was a beautiful evening with nearly 40 show vehicles present.  The fund raising was successful and everyone had a great time enjoying the classic Friday Night Cruise In atmosphere.

RUSTY BASTARD ALE CRUISE IN
         NOWHERE BREWING
COVINGTON VA - AUGUST 24, 2024

Nothing is better than a great Friday evening cruise in, except backing it up with a great Saturday evening cruise in. And that is exactly what happened today. The Rusty Bastard Ale Cruise In was an awesome event with an amazing atmosphere. Angie Hurt and David Hurt with A n D Hot Rod Shop along with Eric Tyree and Nowhere Brewing host an incredible event. A total of 44 vehicles were present and everyone enjoyed a beautiful evening. Congratulations to Isaiah Hubble on winning the award for the "Rustiest Bastard" in the show. Awesome event.

  TAHOE FARM CLUB CAR SHOW
CALDWELL WV - AUGUST 24, 2024

Once again, several members of the Alleghany Cruisers headed west to Wild and Wonderful West Virginia Saturday. This weekends stop on the 2024 Car Show Tour was the TAHOE Farm Club Car Show in Caldwell WV. We always enjoy attending this event, the folks in the TAHOE Farm Club are truly wonderful people and they are very supportive of our club. A total of 37 show vehicles were present on this beautiful day. The hospitality was awesome and we enjoyed spending the day with our friends across the state line. Another great event.

WEST VIRGINIA STATE FAIR CAR SHOW
     FAIRLEA WV - AUGUST 11, 2024

The annual car show at the West Virginia State Fair is always one of our favorite events of the season.  This year was one of the best ever.  Several members of the Alleghany Cruisers made the trek westward and attended this fun filled event.  The weather was some of the best that we have had all year.  It was a fun day being part of the fair.

                STREETSCENE
COVINGTON VA - AUGUST 10, 2024

The 46th Annual STREETSCENE was held in Covington on August 10.  The event was hosted by Kars Unlimited and featured nearly 300 vehicles.  Several members of the Alleghany Cruisers participated in this ling running event.

   RELAY FOR LIFE CAR SHOW
COVINGTON VA - AUGUST 3, 2024

The Relay For Life Car Show is a pretty special event.  It is part of the Alleghany Highlands Relay For Life Activities which honor those whom won their battle with cancer and pays tribute to those whom were lost.  The event also serves as a fund raiser in the hopes to find a cure.  Once again weather was a factor and attendance was down from last years event.  That said, 26 show vehicles were present as their owners showed the determination of old school rodders and came out to support this great cause.  The rain held off to late and everyone had a great time.  The band Domino also provided an awesome concert.  Most importantly the Relay For Life teams had a very successful fund raiser.

FINCASTLE VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT
                         CAR SHOW
           FINCASTLE VA - JULY 27, 2024

July was a heavily traveled month for the Alleghany Cruisers in 2024.  Our final road stop for the month was the Fincastle Volunteer Fire Department Car Show in Fincastle VA.  It was a beautiful day and a great show with 118 vehicles present.  As always the hospitality was great and we really enjoyed seeing many of our friends from the area.  Another great event.

JOHN HENRY DAYS CAR SHOW
  TALCOTT WV - JULY 14, 2024

The  Alleghany Cruisers were on the road again on Sunday July 14.  This time we attended the John Henry Day's Car Show in Talcott WV.  We always enjoy our visits to Talcott as the hospitality is always great.  Our hosts had to be pleased as nearly 150 vehicles were in attendance, making this years show the largest ever in the history of this event.  It was one hot day, but we all had a great time.  Our club was also honored that Mickey Floyd was awarded the Clubs Choice Best In Show award for here 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle.  It was definitely a day to remember.

           TAHOE FARM CLUB
INDEPENDENCE DAY CAR SHOW
  ALDERSON WV - JULY 4, 2024

The Alleghany Cruisers once again ventured to Wild and Wonderful West Virginia on July 4.  The destination this tme was the Independence Day Car Show presented by our good friends in the TAHOE Farm Club.  It was a hot and muggy day, but the rain held off til the trip home at least.  Over 60 show vehicles were present and everyone had a great time.  The TAHOE Farm Club always does a great job with their events.  We are thankful to have made so many friends with our neighbors in West Virginia.

              CMN CAR SHOW
LEWISBURG WV - JUNE 30, 2024

Several members of the Alleghany Cruisers traveled to Lewisburg WV to support the Children's Miracle Network Car Show held at Wal Mart.  It was hot, but it was a beautiful day.  Most importantly, it stayed dry.  Over 60 show vehicles were present and we had a great day visiting our many friends in the area.

CLIFTON FORGE LITTLE LEAGUE CAR SHOW
      CLIFTON FORGE VA - JUNE 8, 2024

Several members of the Alleghany Cruisers made the trek to Clifton Forge VA to support our good friends with the Clifton Forge Little League for their annual car show.  It was a great event with ideal weather.  Nearly 50 show vehicles were present and everyone had a great time.

VETERANS IN THE PARK CAR SHOW
     COVINGTON VA - MAY 25, 2024

Several members of the Alleghany Cruisers were on hand for the Veterans in the Park car show presented by Kars Unlimited.  It turned out to be a beautiful day and over 70 show vehicles were present.  We always enjoy this event and it supports a great cause as the proceeds benefit the local VFW chapters.  Another fun day with friends.

   KARS UNLIMITED CRUISE IN
COVINGTON VA - MAY 19, 2024

Several members of the Alleghany Cruisers were on hand for Kars Unlimited's benefit Cruise In for Lori Gooch Vest.  It was a great day with some rare beautiful weekend weather.  Over 50 show vehicles were on hand and everyone had a great time supporting a local resident that had been stricken with cancer.

      F.S.R.V CAR SHOW
SALEM VA - MAY 11, 2024

A few members of the Alleghany Cruisers attended the F.S.R.V Car Show at the Salem Civic Center in Salem VA.  It was an outstanding event with over 120 show vehicles present.  Our club has ties to this event as member david Simmons was part of the organizing committee and member Eugene Windsor provided D.J. services for the show.  Another great day with our friends.

   WHEELS 4 EDUCATION CAR SHOW
MOUNTAIN VIEW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
     LOW MOOR VA - MAY 11, 2024

A few members of the Alleghany Cruisers were on hand for the first ever Wheels 4 Education Car Show hosted by the Alleghany County PTO and assisted by Kars Unlimited.  It was a great event with around fifty show vehicles present.  There were many vendors and numerous activities for the kids also.

VINTON DOGWOOD FESTIVAL
  VINTON VA - APRIL 27, 2024

A few members of the Alleghany Cruisers made the trek to Vinton VA to support our friends in the Roanoke Chapter of the AACA at their Vinton Dogwood Festival Car Show.  It was a beautiful day and around 75 show vehicles were present.

   KARS UNLIMITED CRUISE IN
COVINGTON VA - APRIL 14, 2024

Several members of the Alleghany Cruisers attended Kars Unlimited's first event of the 2024 Alleghany Highlands Car Event Season on Sunday April 14.  This cruise in was a benefit for Rita Nida, a local resident stricken with cancer.  This event benefited from great weather and over eighty vehicles were on hand.  Our club greatly enjoyed the day and the event appeared to be very successful.  As always, we encourage everyone to support all local events..

         2024 MDA CAR SHOW
ROANOKE VA - MARCH 3-4, 2024

The 2024 MDA Car Show was an amazing event.  Over 120 of the finest show vehicles around were on display along with many vendors.  There was a huge public crowd present to support this great cause.  Many members of the Alleghany Cruisers came out and participated on Car Club Alley.  In addition, club members Edward Back, Eugene Windsor, and Jennifer Dwenny had vehicles on display.  Alleghany Cruisers members Ron & Crystal Leichter were also instrumental in the organization of this great event.  This was an awesome kick off for what promises to be a great car event season.
