3RD ANNUAL CHESSIE CAR SHOW
C&O HERITAGE CENTER - CLIFTON FORGE VA
JULY 11, 2026
I know that I have said it before, but sometimes the stars all align and things actually go even better than they had been planned. When this happens something truly magical happens. Today’s 3rd Annual Chessie Car Show was truly a magic moment in the history car events in the Alleghany Highlands. Was it the biggest car show ever, no, but today, it felt like it was the best. For a few hours on what turned out to be a beautiful Saturday morning and afternoon it truly felt that way. There were 60 show vehicles on site, the most ever at this event. And there were some truly awesome cars, trucks, and tractors preset today. But what made today so special was the atmosphere. Everyone seemed so happy to be there, people were cordial, people were kind, people were happy. This to me is the true measure for success for a car event, happiness. This show has such an electric vibe to it, and this year was the best to date. The folks at the C&O Heritage Center in Clifton Forge are awesome people to work with. These folks truly do a lot of great things in our region and we are honored to work with them on this event. I have to give a special shout out to Wendy Montgomery; without her vision this event would have never gotten off the ground. We think she came up with a great idea. There are so many people to thank. We want to thank all of the area businesses that donated to our raffle and door prize selection. We want to give a special thanks to Eugene “The Lone Wolf” Windsor for providing superb D.J. services. We want to thank the Clifton Forge Rescue Squad for providing us with a cooling station. Big thank you to Helena Hubble and Hubblez Concessions and the folks with Italian Shaved Ice for providing great food service. We want to thank all of the volunteers with the C&O Historical Society for everything you did today to make this event great. We want to thank the Alleghany Journal, Highlands Recorder, Virginian Review, Highlands Media Group, and WDBJ 7 for the excellent media coverage both leading up to and during this event. We want to thank everyone that brought a vehicle to today’s show and to the many members of the community that attended today’s event. Lastly, we want to thank God for a beautiful day. This was truly and awesome day and will remain a highlight in the history of the Alleghany Cruisers for decades to come. Today was special, I am so glad so many of you chose to spend it with us. Thank you.
