The Alleghany Cruisers hosted the Alleghany Highlands final cruise in for 2026 Friday evening at O'Reilly Auto Parts in Covington. The Fall Cruise In was everything a cruise in should be, nothing fancy, just friends with their cars hanging out, exchanging stories, and enjoying everyone's company. This is what the car culture is all about, and the vibe was incredible. Although it tried to rain on us, it didn't. It actually turned out to be a great evening. A total of 35 vehicles turned up for the cruise in and everyone had a great time. Beth Lewis and here entire team at O'Reilly Auto Parts should be commended for engaging so actively with the area's car culture. This is a great venue and we look forward to coming back next year. It was a great night with our friends. Good people enjoying good times. That is what this is all about.
FRIDAY'S IN THE FORGE CRUISE IN

The Alleghany Cruisers were honored to partner with Clifton Forge Main Street in hosting a cruise in as part of the Friday's In The Forge event. It was definitely one electric evening. The highlight of the evening was definitely The Forge band, which featured numerous talented musicians including Josh Schilling, Michael W Armstrong, Jeff Dudley Sr., Steve Tee, Mercer Johnson, and other great musicians. This was definitely one of the top live concerts our area has seen. A total of 20 vehicles participated in the cruise in, there were several vendors on site, and the public turned out in large numbers. It was an awesome event. We were glad we could be a part of it
LABOR DAY CRUISE IN
JRSC - COVINGTON VA
SEPTEMBER 7, 2026
The Alleghany Cruisers hosted the Annual Labor Day Cruise In on Monday. This event is held in conjunction with our friends with the Covington Paperworkers Union Local 675. Nothing short of awesome is what describes this event. The Alleghany Highlands Labor Day Celebration easily brought one of the largest crowds of the year to the Jackson River Sports Complex. It was a beautiful afternoon and evening and the people came out in groves. The cruise in attracted 32 show vehicles, but that just scratched the surface of the evening's activities. The Karlee Raye Band and the 80's Show band both put on a stellar performance, and they put it on in front of easily the largest concert crowd of the year. The Friendly Fork along with the Main Street Baptist Church, Blowin Smoke BBQ, Sweets and Swigs, Flurries INC, and JKK Concession offered a great variety of food. And there was plenty to do for the kids as well. And the wrestling returned and like last year, it was a huge hit. And to cap things off there was an awesome fireworks show presented by Master Displays. We cannot say enough about the folks with the Covington Paperworkers Union that volunteered organizing and running this event. It will go down in history as one of the best Labor Day celebrations our area has ever seen. We were so glad that we could be a part of it. Awesome evening

I know we have said it a hundred times, but it simply cannot be said enough. There is just something special about a Friday evening cruise in. These events exemplify everything the car culture is about, a gathering of friends and their hot rods sharing stories and just enjoying each others company. That is exactly what the Summer Cruise In II - Back to the 70's and 80's was. It was a magical evening. We were blessed with a beautiful evening, which we all know has been rare this year. A total of 34 show vehicles were on hand and everyone had a great time. Eugene "The Lone Wolf" Windsor kept everyone rocking with some great 70's and 80's music and everyone enjoyed some great food from Cucci's Pizzeria. We cannot say enough about our friends at Cucci's Pizzeria, it is always fun coming here and these folks are true neighbors to our community. We cannot stress enough how appreciative we are of them for allowing us to hold these events each summer. It was everything a cruise in should be, great people, awesome rides, and just an awesome vibe. Definitely one enchanted evening.
ROCKIN' THE DEPOT
C&O HERITAGE CENTER - CLIFTON FORGE VA

Well it was fun while it lasted. And we have had to say this all too often this year. It started out as a great afternoon, it was beautiful. Several cars arrived early for Rockin' the Depot and more continued to arrive. There were a lot of folks gathering at the C&O Heritage Center and the little train was making lap after lap. The Clifton Forge Little League was having a fabulous evening. The Fender Benders took the stage at 5:00 pm and they immediately proceeded to put on another great show. It was fun, everyone was having a great time, the vibe was amazing. And then the rain came again, just like it has at so many events this year. We just cannot catch a break. This summer the weather has truly been awful. That said it was indeed fun while it lasted. Everyone got to enjoy about 90 minutes of music and the C&O Heritage Center received some much needed donations. The folks at the C&OHS in Clifton Forge are wonderful people that truly do a lot for their community, in fact, four of them have become members of the Alleghany Cruisers. We look forward to working with these folks many more times in the future. It was a great evening, and it would have been even greater if it were not for this never ending rain that continues to plague our area.

Sometimes it's the simple things that are what we really enjoy. Sure, everyone likes a great car show, the raffles, the awards, etc. But sometimes it is the simple pleasure of getting a bunch of car people together on a Friday evening with a D.J. playing great music with an awesome restaurant next door that really defines the car culture. That is exactly what the Summer Cruise In was, a classic Friday evening gathering of friends with like interest without all of the fluff. It was simple fun on a beautiful evening, and it was awesome, it was electric, it was, in our opinion, exactly what a cruise in should be. A total of 50 show vehicles were present on this beautiful evening and everyone had a wonderful time. Eugene "The Lone Wolf" Windsor did his usual awesome job of providing D.J services, and we cannot say enough about our friends at Cucci's Pizzeria. We are so grateful that they allow us to hold these events here, and everyone enjoyed some of their awesome food. It was an evening to remember, an evening to reflect what the car culture is truly about. Friends, good times, cool rides, and lots of smiles. It was an awesome evening.

Great things always happen when local organizations work together and support each other. And that is exactly what made the Christmas Lights and Summer Nights event such a success. The Alleghany Cruisers were delighted to partner with our friends with Olde Town Covington for this great events. These are some truly great people that are committed to doing a lot of good in our community. Two great local bands, Somber Side and Cliffwood both put on a great show for the many in attendance Friday evening. The famous Hot Dog House stayed open late, and boy were they busy. Maple Avenue was lined with cars as a great crowd enjoyed the music, checked out the cars, and otherwise had a great evening on the town. We really enjoyed this event and look forward to doing more with Olde Town Covington in the future. A great evening in our community.

It was definitely one hot night for Cruisin Covington X but it was definitely a great evening to be out on the town. Several people gathered at the Mallow Mall and quite a few others were seen cruising the town. Quite a few of us gathered at Wal Mart for an informal cruise in after some cruising. It was a great evening of old school hot rodding fun with our friends.

It was a beautiful evening for Cruisin Covington VIII (and I hate I missed it). Quite a few cars were out on the town and groups gathered at Wal Mart and O'Reilly Auto Parts. It was awesome that several of our club members got to meet Suzy Speed as she does so much to promote the car community in Virginia and the surrounding area's. It was kind of like Déjà vu, just this time we actually had a great crowd when the incessant rain made yet another appearance and cut a great car event short. We really enjoyed the short time that we all got to hang out at the new O’Reilly Auto Parts store in Covington. The Alleghany Cruisers were honored to host the Grand Opening Cruise In at their store, we just wish we would have had better weather. Beth Lewis, the manager of O’Reilly Auto Parts and here entire team are wonderful people and they are great friends to the car community here in the Alleghany Highlands. We look forward to doing this again next year. As we seem to have to say too often each year, it was fun while it lasted
THE CLASSIC CRUISE IN
MAGIC CITY CHEVROLET

Well, it wasn't the kind of day we wanted, but it was fun while it lasted. The Classic Cruise In at Magic City was cut in half by the incessant rain that seems to often rear it's ugly head during car events. The threat of storms dramatically hurt attendance at this event, but those that did attend were still able to enjoy a couple hours with friends. We really hate that it went this way however. Magic City Chevrolet has been a strong supporter of the Alleghany Cruisers from the very beginning and we were really hoping for a good showing for them. We also hated it for Hubble's Concessions, we wanted to see Helena have a great night. Hopefully the remainder of the car event season will stay dry on the weekends
CRUISIN' COVINGTON VII

We were blessed with another beautiful evening for the seventh edition of Cruisin Covington 2026. A decent size group gathered at the Mallow Mall and quite a few cars were seen cruising the town. Also saw a lot of Corvette's out, which was really cool. Quite a few of us gathered at Wal Mart for an informal cruise in with our friends. It is great seeing folks get out on the town on a Friday evening. Another great evening with our friends.

It was a great evening for the 6th edition of Cruisin Covington 2026. It was a beautiful weekend, and after torrential rains ruined car events everywhere last weekend, folks were eager to get back out. Quite a few cars were observed cruising Friday evening and several of us gathered at Wal Mart for an informal cruise in. It was a perfect evening for some old school hot rodding fun and a great evening with our friends.

There is just something about the atmosphere of an old-fashioned Friday evening cruise in. It is laid back, fun, and nostalgic all at the same time. That was exactly what we had Friday evening at King’s Tire Service. It was a beautiful evening for a cruise in and around 30 vehicles were on hand, not to mention a pretty large public crowd. The folks at Kings Tire Service are awesome people, they have been supportive of our club from day one. We truly enjoy coming here. Good times with cars and good friends, that is truly what the car culture is all about. Eugene “The Lone Wolf” Windsor did his usual awesome job providing D.J. services and Love All BBQ offered some amazing good. Again, it was a great evening with a great atmosphere. We truly appreciate the opportunity to hold these events at Kings Tire Service.

It was a chilly evening for Cruisin Covington IV, but thankfully it was dry after a week of rain. The cool temperatures and several nearby shows tomorrow kept the crowd down, but those that did come out enjoyed a great evening with friends. Another great evening if old school hot rodding fun.
CRUISE IN FOR AUTISM AWARENESS
RIVERMONT SCHOOL - FALLING SPRINGS VA

Well, it was fun while it lasted. The Alleghany Cruisers partnered with our friends at Rivermont School Alleghany in Falling Springs VA to host the 4th Annual Cruise In for Autism Awareness on Saturday. Unfortunately, the rain moved in and cut the event short. Not sure why everyone worries so much about the lack of rain, it seems like as soon as car event season starts it always makes an appearance. The threatening weather kept the car count down but those there had a good time while the sun was out. There were many great vendors on hand and Hubble’s Concesson’s did an awesome job with the food service. We hope to see this event bounce back next year as the Rivermont School is a great facility and this is a great community event. The Alleghany Cruisers remain committed to the folks in our home town. Again, it was fun while it lasted.
