The Chessie Car Show was established in 2024 as a joint venture between the Alleghany Cruisers and the Chesapeake & Ohio Historical Society. This event takes it's name from the beloved C&O mascot, "Chessie" the kitten. This event is held each year in July as a fund raiser for the C&OHS. The C&OHS is a non profit organization committed to preserving the history of the C&O Railway. The C&OHS is a very active member of our community, operating the C&O Railway Heritage Center in Clifton Forge VA, maintaining it's archives in Clifton Forge VA, and presenting numerous events throughout the year. This show is held onsite at the C&O Railway Heritage Center.
3RD ANNUAL CHESSIE CAR SHOW
JULY 11, 2026
The 3rd Annual Chessie Car Show will be held Saturday July 11, 2026 at the C&O Railway Heritage Center in Clifton Forge VA. This event will run from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm with registration opening at 8:30 am. This event is open to all types of vehicles. Registration will be $20.00 and includes admission to all exhibits within the Heritage Center, Smith Creek Yard, and rides on the little C&O train. There will be dash plaques for the first 50 entrants. Food service will be provided by the Clifton Forge Little League and there will be a live D.J. There will be door prizes, a 50/50 drawing, a raffle for an HO scale locomotive, and a large Chinese auction. The C&O Railway Heritage center features historic displays, rail equipment, a large operating model railroad, a gift shop, and air conditioned restrooms. Come join us for this unique, fun filled event.
