                 CAR SHOW
FAIRLEA WV - AUGUST 16, 2026

The 2026 Alleghany Cruisers Car Show Road Tour continued Sunday. This time we headed to the State Fair of West Virginia for the Annual Car Show held there. This is always one of our favorite events of the year, in addition to a great car show you get to experience everything the fair has to off. The day started off with a rainy trip over (no surprise this year) but the rain cleared off by mid morning and it turned into a beautiful day. In all 67 show vehicles were present and it was a fun and well organized event hosted by some great people. We all had a great time with our friends and enjoyed seeing our friends from across the state line. Another great event and another great day. What a fun weekend.

                 STAR CITY CRUISERS
VETERANS CAR, TRUCK, AND CYCLE SHOW
           SALEM VA - AUGUST 15, 2026

The 2026 Alleghany Cruisers Car Show Road Tour continued Saturday. This weekends stop was the Veterans Car, Truck, and Cycle show in Salem VA presented by our good friends the Star City Cruisers. Folks, this is an awesome show and it is our pick for the best show in the Roanoke Valley. The folks with the Star City Cruisers are some awesome folks, they do a great job with this event and they are some of the friendliest people we know. The weather turned out beautiful, maybe a little warm, but most importantly it was dry. Over 200 show vehicles were present and there were some awesome vehicles there on display. The food service was excellent and these guys host the best ticket raffle we have seen anywhere. Our club really wants to give a shout out to these folks for a job well done. We really enjoyed ourselves at this event. Awesome show.

   RELAY FOR LIFE CAR SHOW
COVINGTON VA - AUGUST 1, 2026

Several members of the Alleghany Cruisers were in attendance at the Relay For Life Car Show Saturday at the Jackson River Sports Complex in Covington VA. This great local event is organized by Alleghany Cruisers Vice President John Sprouse and it supports the Alleghany Highlands Relay For Life organization. It is a great event for a great cause. The weather cooperated for the most part and the car show enjoyed a respectable turn out. Several relay teams participated in the event and the fund raising appeared to be successful. The U.B.U band, which was presented by our friends at the Covington Department of Parks and Recreation put on an excellent show for those that attended. We also need to recognize Alleghany Cruisers members Mickey Clemons Floyd, Heather Floyd Simmons, Robert Floyd IV, and Amanda Sprouse for assisting with this event. We really enjoy this event each year, as it is for a great cause. The only issue I will point out is this. This is a great local event and it supports finding a cure for cancer, which has directly or indirectly affected all of us.

  ADOPT A COP CAR SHOW
FAIRLEA WV - JULY 25, 2026

The Alleghany Cruisers 2026 Car Show Road Tour continued this weekend. This weekends stop was the Adopt A Cop Car Show in Fairlea WV. It was a perfect day for a car show, the weather was very pleasant which was a nice break from the incessant rain that we have dealt with on the weekends this year. We always love heading to West Virginia for car events as the atmosphere is always welcoming and everyone is always so friendly. The folks with the Adopt A Cop committee did an awesome job with this event, it was well organized and well run. We also really appreciate the cause, as the Alleghany Cruisers support the men and women that work very hard in law enforcement, often with little appreciation. Overall it was another great day with lots of great cars and great friends. Great event.

The Alleghany Cruisers were on the road again Sunday. Today’s stop on our 2026 Car Show Road Tour was the John Henry Days Car Show in Talcott WV. We always enjoy attending this show as it Is hosted by some great people. Unfortunately, the incessant rain that has been a fixture during this year’s car show season reared its ugly head again. We were determined however not to let it spoil our good time. Considering the weather the attendance was very good at this event. The folks on the John Henry Days Committee put a tremendous amount of work into this event each year, and it shows. This is a great event. We had a great time with our friends and seeing our friends across the state line. Another fun day.

WINGS AND WHEELS CAR SHOW
GREENBRIER VALLEY AIRPORT
LEWISBURG WV - JUNE 13, 2026

Several members of the Alleghany Cruisers were on the Road again Saturday. This week’s stop was the Wings and Wheels Car Show and Fly In at the Greenbrier Valley Airport in Lewisburg WV. To start with we just cannot say enough good things about this event. The weather was superb and the Greenbrier Valley Airport was a perfect venue for this kind of event. There were a ton of show cars on hand, and quite a few airplanes. It is not every day that you get to look at planes as well as cars at an event like this. The hospitality from the folks putting on the show was excellent and we all had a very good time. As an added bonus five AH-64 Apache attack helicopters landed to refuel on their way back to FT Campbell KY. We got to meet the pilots and crewmen and view the aircraft up close and personal. Friendly guys that really seemed to enjoy talking about their aircraft, and of course we thanked them all for their service. This was a fabulous event and we look forward to seeing it return next year. An awesome day with our car friends.

The Alleghany Cruisers love our community and several of our members headed to Clifton Forge VA Saturday to support the all new Old Town Car Show hosted by the folks affiliated with Clifton Forge Main Street. It was a beautiful day for a car show and this one did not disappoint. This was a great event with a great atmosphere in a great setting. The folks hosting this event did an amazing job, the event was well organized, well run, and everyone involved was super friendly. Atmosphere is what truly makes a car show great, and getting 54 show vehicles at a brand new event is awesome. We were excited to hear that this is going to become an annual event. Great event and a great day with our friends.

ORGAN CAVE WV - MAY 16, 2026

The Alleghany Cruisers were on the road again Saturday. This week’s stop was Organ Cave WV for the Blue-Collar Rats & Rods Car Club’s Spring Cruise In. First of all, I want to say that the folks with Blue Collar Rats & Rods are some great people. It is awesome to see a car club in the Greenbrier Valley again after the demise of the Throttle Throbs a few years back. It was a great day for a car event, the rain actually held off until after the show was over, honestly, we didn’t even think it was calling for it today, but at least it didn’t mess anything up. The attendance at today’s event was awesome with over 70 show vehicles present. There also were some great raffle prizes and great food. Most of all though, the hospitality towards our club and everyone present was great. These are some friendly folks and we really enjoyed ourselves today. Another great day with our car friends

It was well promoted, very organized, and well run. A total of 47 vehicles were present for this show, which is a great total for a first show. Alisha Hoke and all of the folks from Cornerstone Church should be very proud of this event that they created. The atmosphere was amazing, the weather was perfect, and the food service from Blow’N Smoke BBQ, Sweets & Swigs, and the church was outstanding. I personally was happy to be able to provide a small amount of assistance with this event, and everyone seemed to have a great time. This was a fun event and we are looking forward to seeing it again next year.

         MDA CAR SHOW
SALEM VA - MARCH 28, 2026

The 2026 Car Event season officially started in the region today with the MDA Car Show at the Salem Civic Center. A few members of the Alleghany Cruisers made the trek to Salem today to support this great long running event. It is kind of sad to see the MDA Car Show end after this year, we have some great memories from this event at its former location the Berglund Center. That said however, in many ways we liked this year’s version better. By switching to a more traditional one day outdoor show format the event was opened up too many more participants than in years past. And there were a lot of vehicles onsite, honestly, we don’t know how many as some left early, but others kept coming in. Normally I try to photograph each car, but I couldn’t pull it off this time. Another commitment (tickets to the Sail On Beach Boys Tribute concert) required me to leave a little early, so if I missed your car I apologize. Overall, it was a great event, it was chilly but that didn’t hurt the vibe one bit. The MDA committee did a great job with this event. We really enjoyed and really enjoyed seeing so many of our friends in the Roanoke Valley. We hope to see many of you at some of our events this year.
