2025 CLUB EVENTS

LABOR DAY CRUISE IN
JRSC - COVINGTON VA
  SEPTEMBER 1, 2025

The Alleghany Cruisers were thrilled to be invited to host a third annual cruise in as part of the annual Alleghany Highlands Labor Day Celebration hosted by our good friends the Covington Paper workers Union. This year’s event was nothing short of awesome. To start with we had perfect weather, not too hot and no threat of rain. The Cruise In itself featured a great turnout with 31 vehicles participating. The overall event was simply spectacular. There was a huge public crowd on hand and they got to enjoy two great bands, Craftamatic and Vinyl Nation. Wrestling made its return to the Alleghany Highlands Labor Day Celebration and it proved to be very popular. In addition, there was great food and an awesome fireworks display to end the evening. The Alleghany Cruisers love these multi-faceted events and we truly believe they are the evolution and future of the car community. Hosting events with numerous activities appeal to a large number of people and this exposes them to new things and new interests. This is how we continue to grow and expand the car culture, by continuing to welcome new people to our hobby. Everything about this evening’s event was absolutely wonderful. There were so many happy people on hand enjoying a great event. The Covington Paper workers Union did an amazing job today. We are glad we were able to be a part of it. The Alleghany Cruisers are committed to our community.

CRUISIN' COVINGTON X
      AUGUST 30, 2025

he Alleghany Cruisers kicked off the Fall Edition of Cruisin Covington with Cruisin Covington X Saturday evening. It was a beautiful evening with a couple dozen cars out cruising. A few of us gathered at Wal Mart for a fun informal cruise in. It was a fun evening with friends but honestly with such a perfect evening we really thought that there would have been more people out and about. Nonetheless we all enjoyed the evening.

             AUGUST 29, 2025

Back in the spring Jennifer Peters reached out to the Alleghany Cruisers about hosting a cruise in as part of the town of Clifton Forge's Friday's in the Forge festival in August. We sure are glad we were invited. This was an awesome event with cars, food, vendors and great music. We have to give a big shout out to the folks in Clifton Forge for doing this. It was a beautiful evening with a great crowd and we all had a great time. We love events like this that integrate multiple interests together. The car culture is continuing to evolve in positive ways in our area. It was a great evening, we really enjoyed it.

  THE SUMMER CRUISE IN
BACK TO THE 50'S AND 60'S
  CUCCI'S - COVINGTON VA
        AUGUST 22, 2025

There is just something special about Friday evening cruise in’s. And when you hold them at one of Covington’s favorite places to eat, Cucci’s Pizzeria, the feeling is truly magical. It was an awesome night and an old school Friday evening cruise in at it’s very best. A total of 34 vehicles were present and everyone enjoyed the beautiful Friday evening. The atmosphere was electric as elements of the young and the older generation of the car culture meshed into seamless harmony, enjoying a relaxed, pleasant evening among the company of good friends. Eugene “The Lone Wolf” Windsor performed his usual excellent services as D.J. eloquently capturing the mood of the 50’s and 60’s through music. Cucci’s was very busy as regular customers, cruise in attendees, and spectators enjoyed some truly fantastic food. We are truly grateful for our friends here that allow us to host these events. It was just one of those nights where the stars aligned and everything was perfect. We were so glad to be a part of it.

RELAY FOR LIFE CAR SHOW
    JRSC - COVINGTON VA
         AUGUST 2, 2025

Several members of the Alleghany Cruisers attended the annual Relay For Life Car Show Saturday at the Jackson River Sports Complex. This event is organized by John Sprouse and is part of the Alleghany Highlands Relay For Life Ceremonies. Although this was not an official Alleghany Cruisers event, members of our club did assist with this event. It was a beautiful evening, the heat, humidity, and incessant rain that has plagued our area for weeks was no where in sight. Some events just have a special atmosphere and this was one of them. A total of 28 show vehicles were on hand, but as I have said before, it is not the number of cars that define an event, it is the atmosphere. And it was a very, very fun evening. Although the Relay For Life features some somber elements, the general vibe is one of hope and optimism. In addition to the car show several relay teams were on hand and the U.B.U band put on an awesome concert. All in all, the fund raising looked to be very successful and as always, it was another great event at the area’s premier event venue, the Jackson River Sports Complex. A night to remember for sure. And all for a very, very good cause.

          2ND ANNUAL CHESSIE CAR SHOW
C&O HERITAGE CENTER - CLIFTON FORGE VA
                           JULY 12, 2025

The 2nd Annual Chessie Car Show was presented as a joint venture between the C&O Historical Society and the Alleghany Cruisers.  This event is a fund raiser for the C&OHS, a great organization that is not only committed to preserving the history of the Chesapeake & Ohio Railway, but they are also very engaged with the residents of the Alleghany Highlands.  This years event was very successful with 52 show vehicles present.  It was a beautiful day at the C&O Heritage Center and there was a very large public crowd on hand.  This event has an amazing atmosphere and is truly a very unique car show experience.  The fund raising was very successful and everyone had a great time. It was a magical day indeed. Sometimes everything just works out as it should.

CRUISIN' COVINGTON VI
          JULY 11, 2025

After weeks of either rain outs or other scheduled activities Cruisin' Covington finally happened again.  It was a beautiful evening for cruising.  It was warm, but it was dry.  And it hasn't stayed dry very much on Friday evenings this year.  We returned to our original cruise route for the first time this year and around 30 vehicles were seen cruising.  Several of us gathered at our usual spot, the Wal Mart parking lot, for an informal cruise in.  We are all hoping that the weather remains dry for the remainder of this years events.

     CRUISIN' TO THE DINER
         TWINKS 220 DINER
IRON GATE VA - JUNE 29. 2025

The Alleghany Cruisers hosted Cruisin’ to the Diner on Sunday afternoon at Twinks 220 Diner in Iron Gate VA. It was the second ever car event in Iron Gate’s history and it was a fun afternoon. Everyone enjoyed the company and laid back atmosphere on a beautiful, albeit very warm afternoon. The hospitality from Twink’s 220 Diner was exceptional and although there were not a large number of show cars on hand, many came out to support this great local visit and enjoy viewing the cars. Another fun day with our friends.

                  6TH ANNUAL
   BACK THE BLUE SCHOLARSHIP
                   CAR SHOW
JACKSON RIVER SPORTS COMPLEX
   COVINGTON VA - JUNE 21, 2025

The 6th Annual Back the Blue Scholarship Car Show was a truly magical event.  This show proved to be a milestone for the Alleghany Cruisers.  A total of 104 show vehicles were on site, as were numerous law enforcement agencies and vendors.  This year saw a very impressive law enforcement display. There were cars, food, displays, demonstrations, activities for the kids, and tons of other activities.  The public came out in mass and it was a beautiful day.  On Saturday evening ROCK BOTTOM BRIDGE rocked the house during the Back the Blue Bash.  Most importantly, this event raised quite a bit of funding for the Back the Blue Scholarship which will benefit area high school seniors forwarding their education in the criminal justice field. All and all a great day, not only for our club, but for the community as this show continues to gain a great reputation throughout the region.

    THE CLASSIC CRUISE IN
    MAGIC CITY CHEVROLET
COVINGTON VA - JUNE 7, 2025

The Alleghany Cruisers hosted the 3rd Annual Classic Cruise In at Magic City Chevrolet Saturday. It turned out to be a beautiful day, although we were faced with threatening storms. A lot of our regulars were out of town this weekend but it was still a very respectable turn out. Everyone had a great time as we really enjoy coming to Magic City Chevrolet each year, these folks are amazing and have been very supportive of our club from day one. Big shout out to Eugene “The Lone Wolf” Windsor for providing his usual, excellent D.J. services. Also, we want to give a big thank you to the folks with the Clifton Forge Little League for providing excellent food service. We look forward to returning to Magic City next year. Great day.

CRUISIN' COVINGTON V
          JUNE 6, 2025

Once again the incessant rain that has plagued our area on Friday's returned for Cruisin Covington V. This combined with many of our regulars being out of town resulted in a very light turnout. A few hard core enthusiasts came out however and had a good time.

CRUISIN' COVINGTON IV
          MAY 30, 2025

Another cool and rainy Friday was dealt to us for Cruisin Covington IV. This combined with the Alleghany High School graduation kept the turn out down. It was still a fun evening with our friends and quite a bit of dog and cat food was collected for the Alleghany Humane Society whic the Alleghany Cruisers will deliver early next week. Hopefully it will warm up and dry out soon.

CRUISIN' COVINGTON III
          MAY 23, 2025

After getting rained out again last Friday the Alleghany Cruisers were eager to resume Cruisin Covington this Friday. It was dry, but cool. This combined with three nearby car shows tomorrow kept the number of cars cruising down. It was still a fun evening with our friends. We hope you will join us when Cruisin Covington continues next Friday.

    THE SPRING CRUISE IN
     KINGS TIRE SERVICE
COVINGTON VA - MAY 9, 2025

What makes a great car event is atmosphere, and the Alleghany Cruisers Spring Cruise In at Kings Tire Service in Covington VA had an awesome atmosphere. It was a beautiful evening and a total of 32 vehicles were present. The public crowd was also very good. The Clifton Forge Little League did an amazing job providing excellent food service and of course Eugene “The Lone Wolf” Windsor provided his usual superb D.J. services. The folks at Kings Tire Service are awesome people, they run a great business and have been supportive of the Alleghany Cruisers since day one, they are also a major sponsor of the Back the Blue Scholarship Car Show. Most importantly though, everyone in attendance had a great time, there was a great laid-back vibe. There were smiling faces and laughter everywhere. This is what the car culture is truly about, time shared with great friends. It was a great evening.

CRUISE IN FOR AUTISIM AWARENESS
  RIVERMONT SCHOOL ALLEGHANY
FALLING SPRINGS VA - APRIL 27, 2025

The Alleghany Cruisers and our friends at the Rivermont School Alleghany hosted the 3rd Annual Cruise In for Autism Awareness Sunday. It was an awesome day for a spring car event, sunny and very pleasant. A total of 39 show vehicles were on hand (sorry Aaron, you left before we could get a picture of your truck) and there was a very good public crowd. This was a great event at a very nice venue. There were several great vendors on hand as well. Our very own Eugene “The Lone Wolf” Windsor provided excellent D.J. services and our good friends at the Clifton Forge Little League did their usual outstanding job with food service. This was a fun event for everyone. I have said this many times before and will say it again, the measure of success of an event is not how many cars you have, it is looking around and seeing smiling, happy people. Today there was a lot of that. It was a great day and we look forward to doing it again next year.

CRUISIN' COVINGTON I
       APRIL 18, 2025

Sometimes the stars just align perfectly and an event comes off with an amazing atmosphere. The first edition of Cruisin Covington 2025 was just that. Tonight we dedicated this event to our friend and fellow Alleghany Cruiser Melvin Persinger whom sadly passed away earlier this week. Several members of Melvin's family participated in tonight's event which included a cruise by Melvin's home, complete with a few burnouts. The weather was perfect and over fifty cars were seen cruising. A lot of us gathered at our usual haunt the Wal Mart parking lot for a nice evening socializing. It was a great evening with an electric atmosphere. It was also awesome seeing so many come out to join us from out of town

Melvin loved Cruisin Covington, we know he was looking down smiling tonight.
